About Argentine Arab Chamber
of Commerce
Our institution, called “Syrian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce in the Argentine Republic”, was founded on October 5th, 1929, being one of the most representative bodies of the Arab community in our country. Throughout decades it acted in defense of the Arab interests in our country, before the national authorities, at a time when the Arab countries had not still obtained their independency and, then, they did not count on diplomatic representations in Argentina. On June 29th, 1971 by Extraordinary General Assembly, its name was changed, being approved its present designation of Argentine Arab Chamber of Commerce (CCAA).
The Council of Arab Ambassadors in the Argentine Republic, in a meeting in September, 1979, issued a document considering the CCAA as the only recognized entity in our country by the international Arab community. Besides the Chamber was authorized to issue certificates of origin and legalize papers of exportation of Argentine goods which destination was the Arab countries in general.
On the part of the Secretary of Commerce, depending on the Ministry of Economy of the Nation, under statement number 250 of November 20th, 1982, officially recognized the Argentine Arab Chamber of Commerce as the representative entity of the private commercial interests with the Arab countries far as the exterior commerce is concerned.
CCAA is the only business entity in Argentine that is officially recognized and authorized by the League of Arab States and
the General Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture.
